Alberto Cortes has been on the cutting
edge of design since 1985, when his
Kindergarten painting was proudly
displayed at on the MTA Art on
Subway Show. Originally from
Williamsburg, NY, Alberto attended
the High School for Leadership and
Public Service (Class of '98), where an
internship in the Creative Department
for Altshuller & Company Advertising
led to a keen interest in editorial design, layout and typography. At Vassar College, Alberto studied English Literature and Studio Art (BA '02) and earned a campus-wide reputation with painting himself in African and retro-futuristic prints. In the early '00s, Alberto worked with print design departments of many New York based fashion houses including: Heatherette and Patricia Field, as well as in creative departments of many international companies which included: Matel, Sanrio and Playboy. In 2007, after working in marketing departments for numerous charities, Alberto started his own design business, ALBERTO CORTES DESIGN STUDIO, and continued to study in Berlin, Germany's International School of Design. Always happy to serve his clients, Alberto quickly established relationships with New York businesses who needed quality design at reasonable rates. Today, Alberto maintains a large following of customers, who rely on him to deliver professional art to printers and publications on tight deadlines. He lives with his family in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Other interests include: fonts, myspace.com/albertocortesdesign, early '90s dance music, Hayao Miyazaki films and the National Geographic Channel.
